Go Pinoy! Prove the world that we are really “that” creative — that talented.
The first 100% Pinoy animated film, Urduja is gonna be shown (released in theaters) two wednesdays from now — that’s on June 18. The trailer vid’s all over the web:
The movie’s produced by GMA7’s Tony Tuviera (through his APT Entertainment) and Isang Seventoon at Imaginary Friends Production. Robin Padilla and Regina Velasquez lent their voices as well (or probably they got paid, hehe).
Great start! Who knows? GMA7 might end up expanding ala-disney and have an animation arm that would produce quality cartoons here and abroad. Then there’s gonna be a Pinoy Disney where characters would parade too.. or sell collectible dolls.. Wishful thinking right now, maybe, but who knows what’s gonna happen next. After all, there are really lots of Pinoy animators working abroad, for giant companies like Pixar and Disney.
