Increase Blog Traffic

Am still focused on my new baby, TheFilipinoWeb.. i finally got the look that I wanted, thanks to ChiQ Montes (she also designed this page), it’s a funky magazine web theme, and i love it. makes the site edgier.

Ive also joined this groupie so more people would be able to know tfw. It’s called entrecard. Still trying to feel it so cant say much about it now. If you wanna know more about it, just click here for my entrecard id.

I also joined a message board for pinoy wordpress bloggers, and am happy to note that the people there are really helpful.. Ive been learning the whats and what nots in blogging. Am even rushing a bit cause i didnt know about the policies that are supposed to be in the blogs. lol. Im beginning to sound geeky cause ive been tinkering with blogs all day (well, almost) but im trying to be a serious problogger this time so I’d earn more money. lol.

a girl’s got to do what she’s got to do to pay the bills, aight?

Wordpress Plugins, Shortstats, and Custom Permalink

Wheew..

I’m no IT geek so i dont really know much about putting up blogs, moreso, managing its backend. So, I really pity my super nice kuya crush cause I think I gave him a hard time awhile ago when he was teaching me a supposedly “basic” wordpress set-up.

See, I had errors in my blog cause I tried to do some custom permalink myself, based on what my other friend, Karlabebe, taught me. Well, that was about a year ago, so Ive already forgotten the last parts of her lesson (the save as and upload part), which happen to be the most important cause if you leave your permalink setup halfway, you’d end up with broken links.

Anyway, I had a step-by-step tutorial care of kuya crush, and yeah, i successfully changed the urls. so happy, yey! Just so I would remember, here’s the step-by-step procedure on creating custom permalink for my blogs:

  1. Access the WP dashboard, then click settings, then Permalinks.
  2. In Common Settings, choose “Custom Structure”.
  3. Type this:  /%category%/%postname%/
  4. Save. A code will then appear at the bottom, about the “.htaccess file”.
  5. Copy the code, then paste it in your Notepad. (Bff Etten said she has no Notepad cause she’s using Mac.. I dont know the alternative, huhu!)
  6. Save as .htaccess … Not .txt! (Remember to choose “All files” in “save as type”.)
  7. Open your domain cpanel. Access your public_html.
  8. Upload the .htaccess file.

And that’s it! Check your site if it works! It worked for me! :D

Now, Shortstats is another story. Nyahaha.

PS: I also just learned the “next page, previous page” codes. lol.

Busy with Blogs

Been busy with my new blog project, TheFilipinoWeb. It’s a new site where i could do the same thing i do for greenphils — share news and stuff — only with a much broader topic. Kuya Nerbie sent me the details last night via email, and i set it up right then. Wasnt able to finish, though, so some parts of the web are still “under construction”. lol.

So that brings to three the blogs am keeping — greenphils (including this subdomain), grabeh, and thefilipinoweb.

Hmmnn… Ayin texted and said she had pasalubong, and that I had to pick it up, or ask Ryan to pick it up for me (place is too far). Of course, I texted Ryan. Got a call a few hours later informing me that my pasalubong’s already at their place (and now, my problem is how I could get it, waah). Im too lazy to go anywhere now. lol.

Anyways, am gonna be off now. Need to prepare dinner.
