The Dark Knight Review

Spent the whole day out, went to visit a special someone, and then head off to the mall with mama (who went to play bingo) while I wait for my friend, Oneng.

Anyway, I played bingo as well (Oneng’s super late and I got nothing to do), and I won! I won a super lucky amount of 666 pesos. Creepy, lol.  Oneng arrived an hour late, and afterwards, we headed off to the movies to watch our Papa Heath in The Dark Knight.

The movie’s great, i love the fact that it’s realistic, in a sense that batman has this non-fiction feel on him. Same goes with the Joker (although not that much with two-face, cause his was way too impossible).  It made Batman move a notch higher than the other superheroes in a sense that he could, you know, probably be real, like a super gazillionaire living in New York City, who’s got access to the hottest gadgets and technology, and who heads an organization of goodie guys. basta, pwedeng maging totoo. lol.

The action scenes are tight, and just when you thought the Joker has pulled off the worst thing there is to do to make people hate him, he comes up with another, more evil than what he’s previously done. Every ”crime” scene is superb, from the bank robbery (which opened the movie) to that one in the hospital… same with when Joker and his insane groupies were chasing after the cops. Astig!

Tough guys, would-be criminals could learn a lot just watching the film – like how to use brains when committing a crime (lol).

It was such an exhausting film, you never know what’s gonna happen next. I thought my chest’s gonna explode cause the explosions sounded so freakin real.

Very intelligent filmmaking, definitely exceeded my expectation!

Simpsons The Movie

Just watched “Simpsons The Movie” and i was surprised to find out that it isnt the usual simpsons cartoon i used to see on tv. It’s more “political” and way “environmental” that i think, minus the “nudity” lol, we could show it when we do lectures for people (especially for teens).

The movie talked about toxic wastes and how it affects a community — it talks about how one man’s action could potetntially destroy the whole world. It also has references to global warming, and genetic mutation.

Anyways, Simpsons fashion, Springfields got put under threat, got enclosed in a dome after Homer dumped a super large drum of waste from spider pig aka hairy, or was it hoggy, popper over at the Springfield river. Itcaused mutation resulting to the “thousand eyes”. lol. anyways, President Schwarzenegger ordered that the town be enclosed in a dome (blindly ordered, at that). For the rest of the story, go buy the vid, lol. Basta, in the end, Homer saves the day.

Since im into Simpsons mood now, I googled around and took a which Simpsons are you quiz (lol, got too many time).

Old Friends…

Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that’s just fabulous. –Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City

Still got the SATC fever, what can I do? I really enjoyed the movie…

Anyways, checked my friendster early today, and was surprised to receive a message from a friend — a really old friend.. not “old”, as in 200 years old, but a friend from childhood, Ceres

Of course, I told her about Jing, shared with her that she’s now working somewhere abroad and is still single (like myself, lol). I also told her aobut what Kay and I talked about the last time, about our kalaros Noliboy, Gerald, and An-an.. Ceres, I learned, already has four children — so am pretty sure, she has matured in more ways than we had, being with kids now.

It’s so weird how things seemed to be just like yesterday… except of course, with our voice more husky than we were some fifteen years ago. We talked about how things are now, catching up… and what we both know about what had happened to our other kababata, which reminded me of this one boy I used to be linked with.. so I searched for the guy in friendster, and found him — but with an almost dead account. Anyway, I added the guy, just in case.

and they called it puppy “crush”… hahaha :D
